What is Khadi Agarbatti Atma Nirbhar Mission?

Government approves Khadi Agarbatti Atma  Nirbhar Mission as it aims at handholding artisans and supporting the local Agarbatti industry.

On August 2,2020 Khadi Agarbatti Atma Nirbhar Mission to generate employment and make India self reliant in Agarbatti production.

As this mission will help create employment for a large number of migrant and unemployed workers in different parts of country.

This mission will also help in boosting the domestic Agarbatti production.This proposal was proposed by khadi  and village Industries Commission and was approved by Union Minister for MSME,NITIN Gadkari.

This is the unique employment generation scheme which will help India to become Aatmanirbhar.

The main aim for this mission is to hand hold artisans and supporting the local Agarbatti industry.

It will help in creating sustainable employment.

*The cost of the workers training will be shared between KVIC and the private business partner where KVIC will bear 75% of the cost while private business partner will bear 25% of the cost.

*The KVIC will only procure locally made machines by Indian manufacturers with the aim of encouraging local production.

*The business partners will provide the artisans with raw materials for making Agarbatti and will pay them wages on job work basis.

The artisans would be able to earn Rs 1200 per day by 80 Kg of Agarbatti.

This is a very important mission in creating employment to the migrant workers generating sustainable employment.

Currently,the consumption of Agarbatti in India stands approximately at 1490 MT per day.However the production of Agarbatti is just 760 MT.This shows that there is a huge gap between the demand and supply and hence,immense scope for job creation.
